These are the people that are representing the shooters in front of the legislature
- and the number of people they represent does matter.  The NSSA doesn't do this
- it is not their job and they are limited legally.

writing 7 digit checks as the proponents of this legislation have.  It is up to us to 
support our cause

Know what the proposed legislation really means. You cannot depend on the press.
They are the "sensible" people.  Go to (www.scopeny.org) and select "Legislation".

SPEAK OUT

Contact your Legislator.  Nothing counts more than the opinion of someone who votes
in his or her district.  In person is the best way but a phone call, letter or email help.

THE NEW YORK STATE LEGISLATURE IS IN SESSION"

Never has this been a truer statement.  With the assumption of control of both houses
of the legislature and the governor's office by the democrats, the probability of more
restrictive gun control legislation has never been greater.

Over 65 hostile bills are now pending in the legislature.  They would shut down most
gun dealers, expand the ban on "Assault Weapons", require serial numbering and
sale records for ammunition, ban .50 rifles, mandate renewal of pistol permits,
impose storage and trigger lock requirements, prohibit gun shows, require all
transfers of firearms to go through a dealer, expand CoBIS to include rifles &
shotguns, implement microstamping, and mandate "Child Safe" firearms.

This legislation is being promoted as being "Just a few sensible measures that will
make us all safer".

Thinking that this "Doesn't Affect Me"?  Think Again!

• Your rifle shotgun would now be a banned ".50 caliber rifle"
• Banned "Assault Weapons" Would Include:
  -Any semi auto rifle with a thumb hole stock, pistol grip or a muzzle brake.
  -Any semi auto shotgun with a pistol grip, thumbhole or folding stock.
  -Any pistol with a muzzle brake or a magazine outside of the grip.
  -Any feature deemed "Not Sporting" by the superintendent of state police.
• All ammunition sales would be registered and reported to the state police.
• If your gun is stolen and used in a crime you could be held criminally liable.
