New York State Hall Of Fame Criteria
Nominations must be in writing, and submitted at the annual NYS Director's Meeting.   The candidate must have been a member in good standing of the NYSSA   during their shooting career and a resident of NYS.
The candidate must meet the MINIMUM criteria outlined below, for the resume to be submitted.   Final selection will be made by the NYS Executive Committee at their spring meeting.
1. Candidate must be 50 years of age, if still shooting.   Exceptions will be considered, on a case-by-case, for extenuating circumstances.
2. Candidate must be submitted in only one of the following 3 categories:
*Performance Division    *Sportsman Division    *Referee Division
3. Candidate must meet minimum category criteria as follows:
  PERFORMANCE DIVISION (4 OF 5)
 
  1. 2 NYS gun championships
  2. 10 NYS concurrent
  3. 5 years selected to NYS open or concurrent team
  4. 35,000 registered targets
  5. 10 oopen gun championships in-NY State (exclusive of NYS titles)
  SPORTSMAN DIVISION (4 OF 7)
 
  1. NYSSA officer or executive committee member (2 terms)
  2. NSSA director or officer (2 terms)
  3. State director (5 terms)
  4. Club president (2 terms)
  5. Shoot Manager (10 shoots)
  6. 75,000 registered targets
  7. OUTSTANDING service and promotion of skeet
  REFEREE DIVISION
 
  1. NYS shoot - 5 occasions
  2. World Championships - 2 occasions
  3. Zone and/or U.S. Open Championships - 5 occasions
  4. Chief, Assistant Chief - 5 "major" shoots defined by NSSA
    The Roland Smith award, established by the Zone 1 Directors in honor of Roland Smith,  will be awarded separately from the Hall of Fame, and is not subject to the criteria shown above.   Only one person may receive the Roland Smith Award in a given year, and this award is  not required to be given every year.  However, all recipients of the Roland Smith Award  will be members of the New York State Hall of Fame.
